Håkan Gidebratt starts his artistry from his studio by Lake Alstern near Karlstad. Here, watercolor paintings emerge through his poetic motto; “Between dream and reality” where he strives for the viewer to achieve the feeling of a landscape that emerges in almost dream-like forms.
Gidebratt has drawn and painted for as long as he can remember, and he has worked for a long time as a graphic designer and illustrator. He has studied art and taken many art courses and has a long list of exhibitions, both in Sweden and in other countries, behind him. Watercolor painting has come to take up more and more space over the years and today Gidebratt paints full-time.
His inspiration comes from various sources, from dreams and travels to films, music and meetings with other people and other artists. Gidebratt’s work invites the viewer to experience a world where the imaginary and the real merge together.
