The colorful artist from Gävle who is inspired by the sea, ships and geometry.
Berit Norrbelius Lindberg from Gävle was introduced to creativity early on when her father provided her with drawing and painting materials. Over the years, she has had many creative periods, exploring ceramics and wax batik, for example. Several art courses and even an art teacher training can be found on her CV. Around thirty years ago, she began painting seriously, first in oil and now with acrylic paint. For the past ten years, Norrbelius Lindberg has worked full-time in her studio on her farm, and artistry has become a lifestyle that she humbly and gratefully lives by. Norrbelius Lindberg is represented in several Swedish public spaces with works purchased by both municipalities and regions.
As a resident of Gästrikland’s southernmost coastal strip, the sea has always been an important companion and a constant source of inspiration. The motifs in her works therefore often revolve around ships of varying size and seaworthiness. Brightly colored shades are another great source of inspiration, and it is only when the colors harmonize that Norrbelius Lindberg is satisfied.
Experience acrylic paintings on canvas, with strong colors and features of geometric shapes. The theme of this exhibition is Sea and Land, where ships, some of whom rarely keep their promises, and vast landscapes, dominate.
