Chantal Guyot is a Swiss artist based in Malmö, whose artistic expression is characterized by contrasts and a playful variation of color and form. After many years of work in graphics and design, these elements have become central in her creation. Her work is characterized by a conscious use of contrasting colors, where soft and bright shades interact and harmonize. By painting to music, she sees each image as a composition of colors, where each brushstroke seems to follow the rhythm and the feeling of the sound. Guyot works primarily with acrylic paint, and likes to mix different techniques to create unique and dynamic expressions.
Guyot’s greatest inspiration comes from life itself. Art is a reflection of her own feelings, thoughts and values. Through painting, she seeks a way to express and process her inner experiences.
In Guyot’s exhibition, her viewers are encountering stories of contrasts, interaction and movement. Through her playful mix of colors and shapes, she invites the viewer to not only look, but also feel and experience.
