The curious watercolourist from Hagfors and Gothenburg who is fascinated by the human body and its landscape.
Anne-Marie Sjögren, born and raised in the small town of Hagfors in Värmland, has painted and drawn since she was little. Her dream of becoming an artist has followed her throughout her life and now, as an adult, she has found her artistic expression. For a couple of years now, she has had a studio space at Sockerbruket in Gothenburg, a creative house full of artistic people in different fields: painting, dancing, ceramics and music.
Sjögren has no formal artistic training, but she has participated in several watercolor and sketching courses over the years, which have deepened her artistic skills.
Sjögren is in her artistic process inspired by her long professional background as a physiotherapist, which has led to a fascination with the forms and landscapes of the human body. She is also inspired by the power and silence of the forest, and by nature as the unsurpassed designer. Sjögren works with a generous amount of water and a large portion of curiosity, humble disrespect and a lot of patience!
