Christofer Blom
September 6 – September 28 2025
The scrap metal artist from Olsäter who delivers an aesthetic tribute to recycling and creativity.
Christofer Blom is an artist from Olsäter, just north of Deje. He has long had a fondness for old objects and scrap metal in all its forms. For Blom, the artistic process is about giving new life to what others see as junk. He collects, photographs and builds works of art from scrap metal, and his creative expression is a kind of protest against the elitism that he feels sometimes characterizes the art world. To emphasize this attitude, he often works in a suit when welding and grinding his works. Blom also runs his own gallery, Godsmagasinet, in Olsäter, where he shares his passion with others.
His creative process often begins with a pile of objects. Scrap metal ”speaks” to Blom through images that appear in his mind. A rusty oven tray can become a stylish sign, and in the same way, he finds new uses for old things. Blom’s work offers an alternative view of what valuable means.
Expect an exhibition of imaginative creations with rusty and industrial elements. An aesthetic tribute to recycling and creativity.
