JENNY BLOM – the experimental artist from Munkfors who is driven by curiosity and who sends the message to breathe in, breathe out.
JENNY BLOM, from Munkfors in Värmland, has twenty-five years of experience in painting in various techniques. She loves to experiment with different materials, and favorite techniques change from day to day. Sometimes it’s acrylic, sometimes watercolor, and right now it’s a period where oil is the most fun. ”I am driven by curiosity and desire to experiment. Motives that inspire may vary, but I always return to nature. In nature, I find my peace, both in reality and in creation,” says Jenny.
For her painting and creative commitment, Jenny has been awarded scholarships and awards. Her background being a trained decorative painter, she became in 2005 the first in Sweden to receive the international certificate QDP, Qualified Decorative Painter. On an everyday basis, she works as a teacher at Geijerskolan’s art department with various creative techniques.
Her own creativity is an important source of energy, Jenny says, and also describes how the creative bubble is a respite for recovery. Family and children together with an active life in different associations has meant that her creative side has had to operate on half speed in recent years, says Jenny, who is now slowly but surely once again making time for her own painting! Her last few years have also meant a fight against exhaustion symptoms that have knocked on her door. With a touch of wisdom she says; ”I need to constantly remind myself to slow down, breathe, feel my feelings.”During her exhibition, Jenny shows a series of oil paintings on the theme Breathe in Breathe out. A message that many people probably can relate to.
Exhibition period June 1st – August 26
