During the autumn exhibition, Kerstin Wessberg and Annika Eriksdotter show their joint art project. The exhibition ”Today nothing special happened” is based on Annika and Kerstin’s story together, where an ordinary day unfolds. Here everyday emotions meet through painting, photography and textile sculpture. Welcome to step into the experience!

KERSTIN WESSBERG

Kerstin is an artist from Karlstad. Kerstin, who is basically a sociologist, worked for a long time as a human resources specialist and started painting to have something of her own. ”Something that only I can decide on. What joy with the colors and shapes! An endless voyage of discovery, both in what I see, experience and find in my imagination,” says Kerstin.

The painting studio has been there for a long time and she says that she got a good foundation at Karlstad Fria Målarskola in the late nineties. Later, she supplemented with countless painting courses. Today, Kerstin is a full-time artist and she has several scholarships in her CV. She has her own studio in her home in Romstad.

Kerstin’s motifs alternate between people, animals and nature. It can be completely ordinary scenes as well as the world of fairy tales or fantasy. Sources of inspiration are both expressionists, naive painters and folk artists from all times and corners of the world. The techniques are crayons of all kinds, acrylic and egg oil tempera that she makes herself.
