KULTUR OCH CAFÉ

Stina Andersson

September 6 – September 28 2025

Stina Andersson from Deje is the woman behind Lerkällarn (the clay cellar). She is largely self-taught and was born with the creative side within her. Creativity has always been a natural part of life. Everything from ideas to planning, sketches, patterns, drawings and then the actual making. She describes herself as a “do-it-all” but always returns to materials such as clay and yarn. As a young woman, she devoted herself to working with clay as a medium, but then life got in the way. Now Andersson has resumed ceramics and built her own workshop in the basement. Inspiration often comes from such intense and detailed dreams that they just have to come out somehow. But she also draws influences from a simple thought, a feeling, a word or phrase, to people she meets or something she sees.

Andersson describes the creation itself and the fact that something comes out of her hands as a therapeutic part of the process. Since she has another full-time job, she believes that work and everything else in life is filled with so many to-do’s, so her promise to herself is that creating in Lerkällarn should be free from demands and achievement, it should just be fun and enjoyable.

In the exhibition that Andersson presents, you can experience artistic stoneware works spiced with reflection – often in combination with acrylic or watercolour.
