TERÉSE CLASSON SUNDH – the art photographer from Kumla who explores fragments and messages from those who have gone before and those who walk next to us.
Terése Classon Sundh, from Kumla, has always had photography as a means of expression. She works as a full-time photographer, but in recent years her own artistic storytelling has taken over. ”My focus has always been on us humans and capturing what is inside us. My images often start from the fragile and fragmented to show the genuinely human,” describes Terése, who is inspired by her own life experiences, feelings, relationships and contacts with people, their life stories.
The exhibition ”Before it Fades Away” began with a letter. “I was told that I was responsible for nine graves. My parents died prematurely, now it was on my shoulders to care for what was left of the family. It was an awakening and the start of the project,” says Terése.
Terése has found messages from those who have gone before us and those who walk next to us. The fragments are everywhere. She has searched alleys, mines and abandoned factories for testimonies from unknown messengers and found traces of people without a voice in the public space. ”But now they speak to me,” explains Therése. ”A forgotten note on the platform. A pasted image of an electrical cabinet. The voices have become louder. Sometimes they have felt like personal messages. Or perhaps signposts?”
”Before it fades away” consists of works/messages that are exposed on large tin boards so that no one can miss them anymore. When the sun hits the plate, a shimmer occurs and the messages come to life.
Exhibition period May 1st – September 29
