Ullting

ULLTING, CARINA HAGLUND – the wool artist from Skacksjö who designs with a passion for nature, geometry and retro style.

Carina Haglund, known under the name UllTing, is an artisan and felt maker based in the Värmland countryside of Skacksjö in Östra Ämtervik. Her first contact with felting was through an evening class. Sweet music emerged and love for both material and technology became a fact.

Carina describes that the possibilities of wool are endless and simply exciting to explore. There are a variety of qualities of wool suitable for different purposes. The techniques can be varied endlessly and the natural material is suitable for both art and utility objects. Through training in, among other things Handarbetets vänner (Friends of needlework), Linköping University and Sätergläntan (Institute for Crafts and Arts), Kyrkerud and Eskilstuna Folkhögskola, Carina has acquired a good education and solid knowledge. It is worth mentioning that she has also received several awards and scholarships.

Carina says: ”I get my inspiration from nature, geometric shapes and retro patterns. In the felting technique, I start from carded wool that is worked together in different layers with water and soap solution into a solid object. During the exhibition you can experience large felted rugs together with pots and pillows in Swedish wool.

Exhibition period June 29 – July 24
